# Password Recovery

**POST** `/v1/users/password/recovery`

Initiates password recovery (forgot password) for a registered user.

Sends a 6-digit OTP verification code to the user's registered email address or mobile number based on the tenant's authentication configuration. The returned `verify_id` must be used with the **Password Set** endpoint to complete the password reset.

### Response fields

**verify_id** Verification session ID to be passed to the password set endpoint along with the OTP code.
