# Delete Media

**DELETE** `/v1/media/{{media_id}}`

Soft-deletes a media file or folder from the library.

If the deleted item is a folder (`type: 2`), all nested files and subfolders belonging to it will also be archived automatically.

### Response fields

**status** Indicates whether the media item was successfully deleted.
