# Edit Layer

**PATCH** `/v1/layers/{{layer_id}}`

Updates a layer.

Update layer settings.

## Authentication

Send the logged-in user's `auth_key`/JWT as
`Authorization: Bearer <user-auth_key>`. Do not use a tenant API key as the
Bearer credential plus `X-Auth-Key`; layer mutations can reject that form with
`Action not allowed`.
