# Edit Currency

**PUT** `/v1/currencies/{{currency_id}}`

Updates a currency.

Edit currency.

| `name` | required | `string` | name of the currency |
| `image_path` | optional | `string` | logo or image URL of the currency |
| `code` | required | `string` | 3 Letter Alpha-3 code of the currency. For example GBP for British Pounds |
| `exchange_rate` | optional | `float` | exchange rate against default currency |
| `precision` | optional | `integer` | range from zero decimals to three decimals |
| `thousand_separator` | required | `string` | thousands separator of the currency |
| `decimal_point` | required | `string` | decimal point of the currency |
| `format` | required | `string` | format of the currency. format must have `{amount}` in the value. For example, to format British Pounds you can enter the value as `£ {amount}` |
| `default` | required | `boolean` | states whether the currency is default currency or not |
| `active` | required | `boolean` | states whether the currency is active or not |
| `order_by` | optional | `integer` | rank of the currency |
