# Add Comment

Post a new top-level comment or reply to an existing discussion thread.

### Request Body

- `comment.reference_id` (integer, required): Target entity ID.
- `comment.reference_type` (string, required): Any custom string identifier (e.g. `listings_qa`, `listings_comments`, `updates`, etc.).
- `comment.message` (string, required): Comment text message content.
- `comment.parent` (integer, optional): Parent comment ID if posting a reply.
- `comment.account_id` (integer, optional): Merchant account ID if posting on behalf of a store account.

> When posting a comment or reply under `listings_qa`, automated email notifications are dispatched to the buyer or seller.
