# Addresses

The Addresses API is a flexible, type-driven system. Every address has a `type` field that controls its scope and purpose — the same API endpoints handle all types.

## Address types

| Type | Scope | Description |
|---|---|---|
| `shipping_address` | Per user | Customer's personal delivery address |
| `billing_address` | Per user | Customer's billing address |
| `storage_hub` | Tenant-wide | Pickup points, warehouses, store branches, or any shared collection location |

> **`storage_hub` is special:** it is scoped to the tenant, not a user. Any customer can retrieve all storage hubs without being logged in. Use this to power pickup-at-store flows, warehouse listings, drop-off points, or any physical location your business operates.

## What you can build with `storage_hub`

- **Click & collect** — list all your store branches as pickup points at checkout
- **Warehouse network** — expose dispatch hubs for logistics or B2B workflows
- **Reseller stores** — let sellers register their physical store as a collection point
- **Drop-off network** — third-party or franchise locations customers can use
